Two-Day Delivery

We deliver orders to the recipient within two business days: in Switzerland and to the EU, thanks to our fulfillment locations and fixed cut-off times.

Two-day delivery is a binding shipping promise you can give your customers at checkout. ShipHugo picks, packs and ships from our fulfillment locations, so that — depending on the destination country — the parcel starts from the nearest location. That way, for domestic and EU shipments we typically achieve delivery on the second business day, with an on-time rate of 99.4 percent.

Two business days, clearly defined

Two-day delivery means: if an order comes in before the cut-off, it leaves the warehouse the same day and is delivered on the second business day. Day zero is the order day up to the cut-off, day one the first transport day, day two the delivery day. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at the destination don't count.

What always matters is the warehouse the shipment goes out from. We supply Swiss recipients from Switzerland via Swiss Post, and recipients in Germany and the EU from the EU via FedEx, UPS or DHL. For each shipment, the rate calculator picks the option that reliably keeps the two-day window.

How a two-day shipment works

  1. Order received before cut-off

Your order arrives in the control center via an interface and is immediately prioritized as a two-day order if it comes in before the cut-off time of the responsible warehouse.

  2. Pick, pack, label the same day

We pick with 99.7 percent inventory accuracy, pack securely for shipping and print shipping labels and customs documents on the day they arrive.

  3. Pickup by the carrier

The selected carrier (Swiss Post, FedEx, UPS or DHL) collects the shipment in the evening and starts the first transport day.

  4. Delivery on the second business day

The parcel is delivered on the second business day; you and your customer can follow the status live in tracking, right up to proof of delivery.

Cut-off times and reach

For Switzerland the cut-off is 18:00, for EU shipments 15:00. Orders placed after the cut-off move to the next business day and keep the two-day promise from that day on. We record the exact times transparently in the control center, so your checkout promise and our processing line up exactly.

With our fulfillment locations, we regularly reach the metropolitan areas of Switzerland and the most important EU markets within two business days. For more remote destination regions or overseas, we state the realistic transit time up front, rather than making a promise transport can't keep.

Cross-Border without customs backlog

When shipping from Switzerland to the EU, the bottleneck isn't transport but customs. We generate the commercial invoice, customs tariff numbers and VAT details automatically with the shipment, so the parcel doesn't get stuck at the border. That's how two-day delivery stays dependable across borders too.

FAQFrequently asked questions

Questions about two-day delivery

When does the first day start counting?

Day zero is the order day up to the cut-off. If the order comes in before then, day one is the first transport day and day two the delivery day. Weekends and public holidays at the destination don't count.

Does two-day delivery also apply to shipments to the EU?

Yes. We ship EU orders from the EU via FedEx, UPS or DHL. For the metropolitan areas of the most important EU markets, we regularly hit the two-day window; where transit times differ, we state them up front.

What happens with orders placed after the cut-off?

They are processed on the next business day and keep the two-day promise from that day on. The cut-off times are visible in the control center, so your checkout promise matches our processing exactly.

Does two-day delivery cost extra?

The regular shipping rate from the rate calculator applies for the selected carrier; the fast processing in the warehouse is part of our standard turnaround of avg. 1.2 days. There are no hidden express fees.
