Toys
We store, pick, and ship your toys and games breakage-safe, absorb the Christmas peak, and turn returns quickly back into inventory.
Toys are a seasonal, high-variety assortment: many item numbers per brand, sets and bundles, bulky boxes, and a business that leans heavily on the fourth quarter. ShipHugo tracks your inventory down to the individual item, packs everything ship-ready from the small collectible-figure blister to the high-volume toy carton, and scales picking right along with it when volume ramps up before Christmas. Storage and shipping run from our fulfillment locations, close to your market — for example from Switzerland for Swiss shipping, from the EU for EU shipping, and from the US for US shipping.
What we handle for toy brands
We take in your goods sorted by type at a fixed rate per delivery, or mixed for a bit more effort, reconcile the quantities against your advance notice, and place every item under its own SKU in a fixed storage location. Small-item goods like collectible figures, board-game expansions, or craft sets are stored in a shelf compartment at a fixed monthly rate; high-volume boxes and seasonal goods on pallet spaces at a fixed monthly rate.
Every order is picked at a per-order rate for the first item and a small rate for each additional item, and packed so nothing shifts or breaks. Gift-wrapped toys and sets are handled as their own items, so bundles get picked cleanly. Shipping runs through the rate calculator: Swiss Post domestically, FedEx, UPS, and DHL for the EU and worldwide, bulky pieces over 15 kg with a surcharge per pick.
How a toy order flows through
Goods-in and recording
We count every delivery against the advance notice, set up each variant as its own SKU, and flag discrepancies before the goods go on the shelf.
The order comes in
Your store sends the order to our control center, it appears in inventory instantly and moves into picking.
Pick and pack breakage-safe
We pick single items and sets, check quantity and condition, and cushion sensitive or bulky boxes ship-ready.
Shipping and tracking
The shipment goes out with the right carrier, and you and your customer get the tracking number automatically.
Q4 and Christmas: the peak everything builds toward
In the toy business, a large share of annual revenue lands in the weeks before Christmas. That's exactly when turnaround can't slip: we hold avg. 1.2 days from order to shipment and 99.4% on-time shipments even at peak, because we scale picking with the volume instead of being stuck at a fixed headcount.
You pay per actual order, not for reserved capacity that sits empty in January. There's no minimum volume and no forced term, so you don't cross-subsidize the quiet first half of the year with fixed costs for peak season.
Safety, batches, and traceability
In the EU and Switzerland, toys are subject to product-safety and labeling requirements, and in the event of a complaint or recall, traceability is what counts. We track every item down to the individual item in our control center and can carry batches on request, so an affected batch can be uniquely identified and blocked through the inventory.
That keeps inventory accuracy (99.7% in operation) and traceability intact even with many variants, frequent assortment changes, and promotional goods. You see in real time what's where and can step in precisely instead of searching the warehouse.
Cross-Border Switzerland and EU
Many toy brands sell from Switzerland into Germany and the EU. From Switzerland we ship cross-border including customs and VAT handling; from the EU we serve the EU market with short distances, without every order having to clear customs again. So you decide per market where delivery runs from, and your customers in Germany aren't surprised by import fees.
You keep full visibility across all your fulfillment locations: inventory in real time, every shipment with its status, every line item billed transparently. What you see is what gets billed, with no surcharges in the fine print.
