Subscription Box

We assemble and ship your recurring subscription boxes right on the shipping day, within Switzerland and across Europe.

Subscription boxes live and die by rhythm: the box has to go out on the agreed day, look just like last month's and delight the recipient when it lands. ShipHugo plans these recurring waves with you, builds the boxes from fixed or rotating components and ships them together from our fulfillment locations. You see every box, every stock level and every shipment in real time in the control center.

Why subscription boxes need their own fulfillment

A subscription box isn't a single product but a curated package of several items, often with an insert, a card and matching packaging. Done by hand, every shipping wave costs days, and a forgotten insert or a wrong variant is spotted instantly, because the recipient compares the box with the last one.

Then there's the cadence: on just a few days a month, hundreds to thousands of identically built boxes have to go out at once. ShipHugo plans these peaks in advance, reserves capacity at all our fulfillment locations and keeps the components in stock sorted by type, so the wave runs through without delay.

How your subscription box runs at ShipHugo

  1. Define the box

We set up the contents of each box as a fixed bill of materials: main item, add-ons, insert, carton and filler, with variants for rotating or personalized contents.

  2. Store inbound goods

Your components arrive sorted by type in a fixed set per delivery — mixed deliveries take a little more work — and are booked in with 99.7% inventory accuracy and stored on a shelf or on a pallet.

  3. Assemble the wave

On the agreed shipping day we pick and pack all the boxes in the wave to the bill of materials, print labels and accompanying documents and get the shipments ready to ship.

  4. Shipping and tracking

We hand the boxes to the right carrier via the rate calculator and feed back every tracking update, so you and your subscribers can see the status.

Cross-border without friction

Many subscription models have subscribers in Switzerland and in the EU. We ship Swiss boxes from Switzerland with Swiss Post domestically and serve the EU market directly from the EU, so your German and European subscribers are supplied without customs delays and without import surprises.

We take customs and VAT matters at the border off your plate: the components cross the border once into the respective warehouse, and the individual boxes leave the warehouse in the target market. That keeps the turnaround short and the billing clean.

Pricing with no hidden line items

You pay for what you use: storage on a shelf or in pallet spots at a fixed monthly rate, Pick & Pack per order for the first item and a small rate for each additional item in the box, plus label and document printing. A typical box with several components is transparently calculable this way.

There's no minimum volume and no forced term. A one-time onboarding applies as a fixed setup fee, plus a monthly system and support fee. We handle returns at a fixed rate per box. All prices are net, excluding VAT.

FAQFrequently asked questions

Questions about subscription boxes

Can we change the box contents from wave to wave?

Yes. We store a separate bill of materials for each wave, including rotating or seasonal contents. You report the new contents in good time before the shipping day, and we build the box accordingly.

How are subscribers in Germany and the EU supplied?

From the EU. The components are already stored there in the EU market, so your EU boxes go straight to the recipient without customs delays at the border.

Is there a minimum volume for subscription boxes?

No. There's no minimum volume and no forced term. You pay for storage, Pick & Pack and shipping based on actual work, plus a monthly system and support fee.

What does packing a box with several items cost?

Pick & Pack is billed per order for the first item, each additional item in the box at a small rate, plus label and document printing. A box with five components is transparently calculable this way, plus shipping.
